What Data We Collect

Location (When In Use Only) Heritage Hunter accesses your device location only while the app is open. We use your location to determine if you are within 500 meters of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which enables free collection. Location data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to any server.

Collection Data When you collect a site, we store the site ID, collection type (in-person or remote), collection timestamp, and visit date locally on your device using UserDefaults. This data never leaves your device.

Ticket Balance Purchased ticket balances are stored in your device’s Keychain. This data is local-only, does not sync to iCloud, and is not accessible by other apps.

What Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your name, email, or any personal identifiers
  • We do not track your browsing or app usage behavior
  • We do not use any analytics services or third-party tracking SDKs
  • We do not transmit any data to external servers
  • We do not use cookies or fingerprinting

In-App Purchases

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not have access to your payment information. Purchase records are managed by Apple’s App Store infrastructure.

Third-Party Services

The only external service Heritage Hunter communicates with is Apple’s StoreKit for in-app purchases and subscription management. No other third-party services are used.

Data Storage

All app data is stored locally on your device:

  • UserDefaults: Collection entries, achievement progress, ticket state
  • Keychain: Purchased ticket balance (non-syncable, local-only)

No data is stored on external servers.

Children’s Privacy

Heritage Hunter does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is rated 4+ and does not require any personal information to use.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.
