Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using Heritage Hunter, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Description of Service

Heritage Hunter is a location-based game for exploring and collecting UNESCO World Heritage Sites and Taiwan cultural heritage. The app uses third-party and publicly available data to display heritage information.

Advertising

Heritage Hunter may display banner advertisements supplied by Kickstart Exchange. Ad availability, content, and destination apps are provided by third parties and may change. Heritage Hunter does not endorse an advertised app merely because its ad appears.

In-App Purchases

Heritage Hunter offers:

  • Consumable support purchases: Optional one-time contributions that support continued development. They do not grant tickets, subscriptions, or recurring benefits.
  • Lifetime ad removal: A non-consumable purchase that removes advertising while the associated App Store entitlement remains valid. You can restore this purchase through the app using the Apple Account that purchased it.

Users whose cumulative support total is already recorded locally as at least NT$190 are also granted ad-free access. This grandfathered access is based on app-owned local or backed-up state, is not itself an App Store non-consumable entitlement, and therefore cannot be restored from App Store purchase history alone.

All purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple’s terms. Refunds and purchase revocations are handled by Apple. If Apple revokes the lifetime ad-removal entitlement, ads may become eligible to appear again unless the grandfathered support condition applies.

Site data is sourced from the UNESCO Data Hub (data.unesco.org) under the CC BY-SA 3.0 IGO license. Heritage Hunter is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to UNESCO or the UNESCO World Heritage Centre.

Coordinates, names, descriptions, photos, advertisements, and other third-party information may contain inaccuracies or become unavailable. We are not responsible for issues arising from inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unavailable third-party content.

User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the app for any illegal purpose.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer or modify the app except where applicable law expressly permits it.
  • Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities for unintended benefits, including manipulating advertising or purchase behavior.

Limitation of Liability

Heritage Hunter is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for damages arising from your use of the app, including loss of data, inability to access features, or inaccuracies in third-party information.

Cap on Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for claims arising out of or related to your use of the app shall not exceed the total amount you actually paid to us through the app in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. If you made no payments, our maximum liability shall be zero.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the app shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Taiwan, Republic of China.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
