What Data We Process

Location (When In Use Only) Heritage Hunter accesses your device location only while the app is open. We use it to show nearby heritage sites and determine whether an in-person collection is available. Heritage Hunter processes location on your device and does not provide it to the advertising service described below.

Collection and Progress Data Collected sites, visit dates, achievement progress, and preferences are stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud Backup, the selected backup data is stored in your iCloud key-value store so it can be restored on devices using your Apple Account.

Support and Purchase State Support totals and processed-transaction records are stored locally. In-app purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive your payment-card information.

Local Product Analytics Heritage Hunter may record product events in a local log on your device for diagnostics and product improvement. This log is not sent to an analytics provider by the app.

Advertising and Kickstart Exchange

Heritage Hunter may display privacy-preserving banner ads supplied by Kickstart Exchange. The Kickstart SDK sends app-level information including its API key, Heritage Hunter’s bundle identifier, platform, app and build versions, SDK version, App Store storefront country, and development mode when applicable. In shipping builds, it may also send a locally verified, Apple-signed App Transaction to confirm that the request comes from a production installation of the registered app. Kickstart processes that signed JWS only for this verification and says it immediately discards it without retaining, hashing, logging, correlating, targeting with, or analyzing its stable values.

Kickstart records app-level ad delivery, impressions, clicks, and user-submitted ad reports. It generally keeps individual delivery and interaction records for approximately 30 days; aggregate daily app-to-app statistics may be retained for historical analytics without a fixed deletion date. The Kickstart SDK declares Product Interaction and Advertising Data for third-party advertising, developer advertising or marketing, analytics, and app functionality. According to its privacy manifest and privacy notice, this data is not linked to your identity, is not used for tracking across apps or websites, and is not used to build behavioral profiles.

Heritage Hunter does not provide Kickstart Exchange with your name, email address, precise location, purchase history, user ID, or device ID solely for advertising. You can permanently remove ads through the available non-consumable in-app purchase. Users whose locally recorded cumulative support is at least NT$190 are also treated as ad-free.

For details, see the Kickstart Exchange Privacy Notice.

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not sell personal information.
  • We do not use advertising data to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
  • We do not use cookies or device fingerprinting.
  • We do not provide location or collection progress to Kickstart Exchange.
  • We do not operate an account system that collects your name or email address.

Third-Party Services

Heritage Hunter uses:

  • Apple StoreKit for in-app purchases and restoring the lifetime ad-removal entitlement.
  • Apple iCloud, only if you enable iCloud Backup.
  • Kickstart Exchange to request, display, and report interactions with banner ads. Kickstart uses Cloudflare for network, security, and content delivery; Cloudflare therefore processes the connecting IP address while delivering requests and ad artwork. Kickstart states that it does not store those IP addresses or use them to identify anyone.
  • Remote image hosts when a heritage-site photo is available from a network URL.

Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies.

Data Storage

App-owned state is stored using UserDefaults, a non-syncable Keychain where legacy ticket state still exists, and an optional iCloud key-value backup. StoreKit purchase entitlements are managed by Apple. Advertising data processed by Kickstart Exchange is governed by its privacy notice.

Children’s Privacy

Heritage Hunter does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app does not require an account or personal information to use its core features.
